A progressive, inclusive, Presbyterian congregation bringing God's good news to students and community in Urbana-Champaign

McKinley Foundation

Students will find a variety of religious life programs at McKinley. We value diversity, and we respect that the faith journey differs for each individual.

Rev. Harris at Quad DayFor more than a hundred years, the McKinley Presbyterian Student Foundation has supported Champaign-Urbana college students, faculty, and staff in cultivating a vital religious life. Though we are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), our campus ministry also respects the many spiritual traditions among those we serve. Many of our activities take place in the foundation building on the U of I campus.

Outreach to University of Illinois students and residents of our student dorm, Presby Hall, is led by Rev. Keith Harris, associate pastor and executive director of the McKinley Foundation.

Presby Hall

Built in 2008, Presby Hall offers a modern and eco-friendly living environment in the heart of campus. Residents enjoy suite-style living with many amenities, including private balconies, in-suite washer and dryers, and free high-speed Internet and cable TV. Each fully furnished suite has a complete kitchen, with dishwasher, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.

With over 200 residents, Presby offers students many opportunities to make new friends or become involved in community service. Other features include an onsite fitness center and in-building parking.

Have a favorite meal? The Presby dining hall plans meals based on student requests. Residents can purchase a meal plan to enjoy all of their favorite foods.

The residence hall is professionally managed and staffed with an on-site resident director and six resident advisors. Presby is the first certified “green” residence option at the University of Illinois, built according to the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver standard.

Giving to the Foundation

The McKinley Foundation is enabled to do its work through the financial support of all of its donors. We invite your partnership in offering vibrant campus ministry for students at the U of I and Parkland College. Your support means that more students will be reached, more scholarships offered, more alcohol-free programming made available, and better meeting space provided to student groups. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law and IRS regulations governing charitable contributions.
