A progressive, inclusive, Presbyterian congregation bringing God's good news to students and community in Urbana-Champaign

Music

Pipes of the McKinley organ
Music is an eclectic and vital part of worship and fellowship at McKinley: vibrant congregational singing, really fine organ music, occasional instrumental soloists and bluegrass or folk music, and a small but musical choir. We encourage you to nurture whatever musical gifts you have and share them with our community of faith.

McKinley choir

Singing during worshipOur friendly choir of 15 to 20 sings most Sundays from late August through May. We rehearse in the sanctuary on Wednesday nights, from 7 to 8 p.m., and we welcome you to join us! Previous experience in a choir is wonderful but not required. No auditions, either! We have quite a range of skills and backgrounds, so you’ll probably find someone who can help you learn your part and someone you can support, too.

The choir usually presents special Christmas music one Sunday in December, sings for the Christmas Eve service, and sings Lenten and Easter music, too.
