McKinley Presbyterian Church and Foundation
Christian Education
- Nursery care for children from infancy to age two is available from 9:15 a.m. until noon on Sundays. Our teacher, Jen Bechtel, is assisted by a volunteer. The nursery is located on the second floor of the Foundation Building adjacent to the church, and contact between the two buildings is maintained by cell phone.
- Preschool Sunday School and childcare are available on Sundays from 9:15 until noon next to the nursery on the second floor of the Foundation Building. The teacher, Jenny Kitchka, and volunteers teach a weekly lesson and provide time for snack and free and organized play.
- Elementary age children attend church service and enjoy Sunday School classes in the basement of the Foundation Building after worship service until noon. Adult volunteers teach lessons of faith, stewardship and fellowship.
- Youth in middle and high school meet
with our volunteers Jane Cain and Lara Hebert after worship
service. Youth
become involved in a variety of service projects, travel, and
fellowship activities, and frequently meet with other area church
youth groups.
- On the third Sunday of each month children and youth leave worship service early and gather in the Foundation Building for a service project before attending Sunday School. Past projects have served the TIMES Center, Humane Society, Heifer International, the Mennonite School Kit Project, church members, and others.
- Adult Education: Rev.
DiAnne Hatch will teach an eight week series using the Donald
Griggs book The
Bible from Scratch: The New Testament for Beginners. Class
will meet in the Foundation Building from 5:30 until 7:00 on
Mondays, starting February 5, 2007. Bring a light supper
or pick something up at the Serene Bean Café and join
this friendly and inquisitive group and a stellar teacher. Books
are available at a cost of $10.00 from DiAnne or Barbara England.
